Some day my prince will come...
One of my absolute favorite parts of any fairy tale is the part when the prince and princess fall in love. Let's be honest- who doesn't love a nice fairytale ending? Anyhow, I can not wait (Lord willing) until i meet my "prince charming". I know I sound crazy, but hey, I'm a teenage girl! However, our world's standards are not exactly cut out for "true love" and knights in shining armor. But friends, all of us have true love! God loved us so intensely that He sacrificed His ONLY Son so that we can have a close relationship with Him. I love resting in the fact that Christ loves me more than anyone ever can. God's love is more powerful that any force found on earth. Not only does He love us, but He also gives us the opportunity to love.
The love between a prince and a princess is priceless- after all it was meant to represent the relationship between Christ and the Church! (Ephesians 5) We all know that today, dating is a really vague word. The bible talks a lot about marriage, however the time between singleness and marriage isn't discussed much. One of the things I struggle with living in today's world is being a single teenage girl who has never had a boyfriend. But, I shouldn't find my worth in boys and what they think of me. I have recently felt the Lord whispering to me this truth: Be still and know that I am God. I need to trust that He has my future- prince included- all planned out. Now its my impatient-selfs' turn to wait.
To my single friends, don't be sad! You are so blessed to have this time to grow deeper in your relationship with Christ and with friends. Don't ever feel pressured to be in a relationship "just because". God is probably preparing the right young man for you, be patient- I know its hard but, we're all in this together! You deserve a Disney prince who will guide you in the right direction. Your worth is not determined by the number of boys pursuing you. God has already deemed you priceless. You are deeply cherished by Him.
Friends, I have no idea where you are today. You may be single, like me, engaged to the man of your dreams, or married to your prince! But you know what we all have in common? We're all valued the same by God. He loves you so deeply. He knows your every longing and regret. You don't need a prince to make you a princess. You are the daughter of the King of Kings.
"He has made everything beautiful in its time"- Ecclesiastes 3:11
You are valuable.
